How to remove “Personal Security”?
Jan 15th
A few days ago my colleague encounter a malware which she cannot remove or uninstall the software. It is called “Personal Security”.
It is actually a type of malware which will install by itself on to the PC and will not give any option to remove or uninstall it unless you buy the software itself. They will so called scan your computer for any security threats and informing you about it and again, you will not be able to remove it unless you buy the software. The list that it shows might be correct or a fake list that they will make you feel that your computer really have a problem with the security.
Anyway, this is what you need to do to remove or uninstall it.
- Go to “My Computer”
- Go to “C:”
- Go to “Program Files”
- Go to “Common Files”
- Go to “Uninstall PersonalSec”
- Run (double-click) the “Uninstall” program.
Just as simple as that… Hope that this tutorial will help you.
Changing Colour Scheme – MS Office 2007
Aug 25th
A simple tips on how you can change the color scheme for your Microsoft Office 2007.
You might get bored with Microsoft Office 2007 Blue color bar and overall looks.
So here is a simple tips that you can do to change your Microsoft Office 2007 color scheme.
Open any Microsoft Office 2007 application except for Microsoft Outlook 2007. For this example, we will use Microsoft Word 2007.
Click on the “Office Button” and then go to “Word Options”. A new window will open and you can see “Color Scheme” under the “Popular” option.
Choose the color that you like. The problem is that there’s not many color to choose from. It only have Blue, Silver and Black.
My favorite will be Blue and Black because Silver looks a little dull. The reason that I didn’t let you to open Microsoft Outlook 2007 is because it doesn’t have this option but once you’ve change it in other Microsoft Office application, you change for all. So when you do it in Microsoft Word 2007, it will automatically change in Microsoft Outlook 2007. Below are the screenshot for both Silver and Black Color Scheme.
Hope that you’ll love this tips. Please leave some comment.
Digi Wireless Broadband.
May 26th
Recently Digi launched their new product, Digi Wireless Broadband. The packages seems competitive to me.
The Digi Wireless Broadband have 3 type of packages and you can choose either to take it with a modem or without (if you already have a modem). The packages are as follows:
- Discover :
- With modem: RM58 + RM15 = RM 73 (Package + Modem Installment)
- Without modem: RM53 (RM5 discount for 12 months. Will be RM58 after 12 months)
- Speed: Up to 700Kbps
- Usage limit: 3GB
- Explore :
- With modem: RM108 (Modem is FREE)
- Without modem: RM98 (RM10 discount for 12 months. Will be RM108 after 12 months)
- Speed: Up to 700Kbps
- Usage limit: 10GB
- Extreme :
- With modem: RM188 (Modem is FREE)
- Without modem: RM168 (RM20 discount for 12 months. Will be RM188 after 12 months)
- Speed: Up to 2Mbps
- Usage limit: 20GB
Cancellation will be charge a termination fee. The fee is “Normal Monthly Modem Installment” + ”Remaining Months of Your Modem Tenure”. For example you’ve used the service for 6 months, you will need to pay RM30 x 6 months = RM180. For Discover & Explore package, the modem normal monthly installment is RM30 and for Extreme package, it will be RM50. The modem design is the same as the modem from Maxis.
You need to pay RM100 in advance and the modem comes with 18 months warranty.
Summary
My opinion, the price and the usage limit is quite OK. The problem with Digi to me might be the coverage. I’ve checked from their website and my area only have EDGE connection and from my experience using Celcom, when it is connected to EDGE it is rather slow.
Compared to Celcom Wireless Broadband in terms of price and speed, Digi should make their packages cheaper. Even P1 W1MAX can give a better offer. I hope that Digi can widen their coverage as they always says that they have the widest coverage, but you should have better 3G coverage instead of only voice. Anyway, I predict that in the future the price of the broadband, not only wireless will be much more competitive as more and more service provider like Digi is in the arena as well.

My Firefox Cannot Open New Window!
Mar 26th
Recently I’ve got a problem with my Firefox. My Firefox cannot open a new window.
At first I’m not sure what is the problem. I’ve reinstalled Firefox but the problem still exist. The next thing I remembered that I’ve installed the new Skype 4.0.
The problem occured right after the system restarted for the installation of the new Skype 4.0.
As I always use Skype too, I don’t have any intention to removed it just yet, so I checked the plugin list for my Firefox and I removed the Skype plugin for Mozilla Firefox and it worked just fine. The plugin somehow block the open new window command for Mozilla Firefox.
Hope this will help those that have similar problem. Please a comment if this tips is useful or not.
