The PC Fair 2009 (II)
Sep 4th
As usual, I will try to make some time to go to PC Fair. So I went to PC Fair 2009 (II) with my youngest brother on Saturday.
PC Fair 2009 (II)
I don’t have any plan to buy anything except for my brother. He wanted to buy a thumbdrive. I didn’t bring my camera so I’ve used my brother’s camera phone, so the picture quality might not be that good. To me, it is fine.
From what I can see, this time P1 W1MAX doesn’t advertise as much as before. The most visible brand in the fair would be Kaspersky. They are basically everywhere… Because of that, you can see Jackie Chans’s face nearly everywhere. They have an area of their own beside the PC Guru area as well.
In front of the PC Guru show room they have this contest on why you are proud to be a Malaysian. Just take the note sheet and fill up the form behind and write down the reason you are proud to be a Malaysian. The question is “52 Reason To Be A Proud Malaysian” (is not actually a a question, but I think you get what I mean).
The first hall have been change to a different theme… The Online Games occupied the first hall. Most of the games are Chinese language online games so don’t really check it out. The thing I like about online games exhibitors are their booths. The have really nice booth and there’s people with the character’s costume.
Same as the previous fair, the 2nd hall occupied the notebooks and they have put on a notice that the audio hall have been change to the end of 5th hall.
So we continue our journey in search of thumbdrive. When we reach the lower level halls, we realize that the price of the thumbdrive is nearly the same as outside. Anyway, we are there so might as well that we purchase it.
Microsoft have a few cool thing that they offer but to me still not cheap enough. hehehe…. Still love to visit steelseries booth although I’m not so into computer gaming.
One of the offer that I’m interested in is A4Tech G6 Saver Wireless Desktop that cost RM79. It comes with a wireless keyboard and wireless mouse 2.4GHz frequency (very fast…) For a combo it is very cheap and the specs is super cool. Check out the images below:
At last I saw something that I’ve been wanting for quite sometime… The Kingston’s Terra Cotta Warrior Limited Edition flash drive… For 4GB it cost RM69. For me it is worth it as I collected Kingston’s Limited Edition collection. My brother bought an 8GB DataTraveller 100 for RM50. As I’ve told you that the price is not that much different if you buy it at the shop. Will blog more about my Limited Edition Kingston’s flash drive collection. There’s also the 32GB (RM219) and 64GB (Rm459).
As usual, Kingston will have this lucky draw each time you buy a Kingston product for more than RM30 if I’m not mistaken. So I went and queue with my brother. I got a Kingston tote bag and my brother got a Kingston’s keychain. I already have 3 of those bag. I think it is my luck with bags…
At the last 5th hall, is where they put the broadband provider and the audio thingy… This time the broadband provider not as aggressive as before. Even their booth are smaller than before. I’ve just got to know that my friend took DIGI wireless broadband and to her that it seems that the coverage is quite bad in her area.
Celcom Broadband introduce their new modem design. The Limited Edition Celcom Broadband MTV World Stage USB Stick for only RM249 (marketing style pricing, they can put RM250 but RM249 looks a bit cheaper I think. Hehe…) and you’ll get 2 MTV World Stage passes (with selected packages). The modem looks very cool… and the price of the modem is cheap too.
Epson organise a recycling campaign (it is part of the e-Waste Recycling Campaign by PIKOM and the Department of Environment) which they will give you a RM10 voucher in exchange with your old PC, printer, laptop or monitor of any brand and condition. The problem to me is that most visitor doesn’t know about this and to bring the PC or printer to PC Fair is a bit troublesome to me and RM10… oh please… but overall the campaign is good for the public awareness on recycling their IT products, at least they do something to help protect the environment, right?
This time the PC Fair layout is a bit different compared to PC Fair 2009 (I) and I think it better that way as the visitor won’t get bored to the same layout for each visit.
Went back straight after that.
