I’ve got a question from a friend on how to start a blog.

I asked him:

You want to use own domain name and hosting space? OR

You want to use a free blog services.

He answered:

I want to use my own domain name and hosting.

So if you have the same question and answer as above, here are the steps:

My friend have his own domain name and web hosting (with cPanel and Fantastico installed)

• Go to the web hosting cPanel control panel.
• Click on Fantastico De Luxe

• On the left navigation panel under the Blogs Category there is Wordpress

• Click on Wordpress to start a blog using WordPress
• Click on New Installation

• Enter the required details
• If you want to install it in the root directory just leave the “Install in directory” box empty

• Then click “Install WordPress”
• It will then inform you that it will create a database file and make sure that the access URL is correct.
• Click on “Finish Installation”
• Wait for a while…
• Then, all the installation is done. Put in you email address for the Installation Details.
• Click on “Send E-mail”
• Check you email for further detail.
• It’s that simple.

Hope this step can help all of you that have the same problem as my friend.
