Kuala Lumpur International Book Fair 2010
Feb 26th
Kuala Lumpur International Book Fair 2010 will be here soon. I didn’t have the chance to go to the Kuala Lumpur International Book Fair 2009 but I went to the Bookfest@Malaysia in KLCC and it was huge. To me, to go there for just a day was not enough but I don’t have time to go around. It is a must go for all the book lovers like me. haha… This time they held it in Putra World Trade Center, so I think I might go there by train.
Below are the details of Kuala Lumpur International Book Fair 2010:
Venue: Putra World Trade Center, Kuala Lumpur.
Date: 19 until 28 March 2010.
Time: Mondays – Thursdays (10 am to 8 pm), Fridays – Sundays (10 am to 9 pm)
For the 29th edition in 2010, 857 exhibition booths have been allocated, making it the biggest in the history of Kuala Lumpur International Book Fair and this year it is acknowledged by the Malaysian Book of Records that this is the “Biggest book fair ever organised in Malaysia“. Organized by The National Book Council of Malaysia (MBKM) and The Malaysian Book Industry Council (MBIM).
Hope that I can make it this year. Come and join this great event.

Trip to Tugu Negara!
Jan 30th
After more than 15 years, I visited the Tugu Negara on the second day of Chinese New Year.
We didn’t plan to go there, all of a sudden on the way back from a “kenduri” I was driving to I don’t know where. All I can think of is that I want to take them to Kuala Lumpur.
First of all, I’m not familiar with Kuala Lumpur road. On the way to Kuala Lumpur, I’m not sure which road to take and where to go. So I decided that I want to take them to the “Taman Burung”. I don’t know how, but I was taking the SMART Tunnel from Cheras (I think so) to Jalan Tun Razak.
It was a little bit late to go to Taman Burung as the time is already 5 p.m. so I decided to stop at Tugu Negara. It was very nostalgic as it was a very long time ago since the last time I was there.
Below are some pictures that we manage to take.
After that, we pass by Taman Burung, Taman Orkid and all the other TAMAN around that area. Planning to go to all the TAMAN in the future. Can’t wait… haha…

Eye On Malaysia…
Oct 10th
Malaysia’s Independence Day (Hari Kemerdekaan), the last day of August 2008 is the also the last day of Eye On Malaysia will be at Titiwangsa Lake Gardens. Next is will be in Melaka.
We were supposed to go to Dataran Merdeka, Kuala Lumpur that morning, but we have to cancel it.
So we decided to go to Titiwangsa Lake Gardens as we always talking about going to take a ride on the Eye On Malaysia and it is the last day it will be there.
I asked the security personnel there whether I can bring my child along and he said it is fine. So we decide to take the ride.
It is RM15 adult and RM8 for child (under 12 years old is FREE).
The ride is roughly around 12 minutes. It is kind of bored after a few minutes but anyway, it is a nice view up there. From below, you can still see a very good view of the surrounding (you can see it from the gallery below). It was a good experience and I would love to take a ride on it again, but maybe in Melaka after this.
Below is the picture gallery of my family at Eye On Malaysia.
Here is a short video on how it is looked like in the gondolas.
The video below have a better overall view of “Eye On Malaysia”:
Before I end the post, here are some fact that I’ve gathered about Eye On Malaysia:
- The Eye on Malaysia is 60 metre tall portable Ferris wheel installation at Titiwangsa Lake Gardens, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
- The wheel comprises 42 gondolas (including 1 VIP one) and was unveiled in conjunction with Visit Malaysia Year 2007 on January 6, 2007 by Malaysian Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi.
- The wheel allows visitors to experience a 360-degree panoramic view of Kuala Lumpur and over 20 kilometres of its surroundings including KL Tower, Istana Budaya and Petronas Twin Towers, during a 12-minute ride.
- It will be relocated to Malacca in November 2008.
